Fully customizable to compliment a wide range of home and room decor.
Visible from the interior and exterior of your home, plantation shutters tie it all together.
Many consider plantation shutters to be a huge investment. Potential buyers tend to appreciate their classic beauty.
Plantation shutters have the ability to reduce heat gain in the summer months and heat loss over the winter.
At Just Blinds well-designed Plantation shutters are a favorite choice for window treatments. They’re the most popular type of window treatment across the country, but particularly in the warmer Southern and Western states. They are more versatile than custom draperies, and can increase the value of your home. Why? Because many home buyers find these types of shutters very desirable when comparing potential homes which can make your investment pay off when selling your home. Most people love the uniform look when all the windows on the front of a home have plantation shutters. Great curb appeal!
Elegant and classic, our plantation shutters add “timeless beauty.” Our shutters are extremely durable and designed to complement a wide range of home and room decor. Just Blinds can provide options to be admired in traditional, modern and even eclectic design schemes.
Plantation shutters, consist of horizontal wood slat attached to a frame that is applied to the window frame; they are function similar to Venetian blinds, minus the cords. Most are designed to include a frame that holds the shutters open, like doors that can swing out from the window, when more natural light is needed inside the room. The plantation shutters may have a tilt-rod adjustment, depending on their design and construction. The rod is affixed to the middle of the wide slats and changes their angle as needed.
“Traditional” shutters are not the same as plantation shutters. They have the smaller, narrower louvers. Plantation Shutters are wide louvered shutters, most common size is 3 1/2 inch louver. What size louver you choose is really a personal decision. The 2 1/2 inch louver is more traditional and is a great choice for average size rooms with normal ceiling heights. If you have huge rooms with soaring ceilings, the 3 1/2 inch louver may be a better fit.
The most popular color is white, but many people love the look of stained shutters, too. Remember that plantation shutters are seen from both the interior of your home as well as the exterior. If the exterior of your home is dark, white plantation shutters might not look as nice as stained ones from the outside. If the look of shutters feels too stark, you can also add fabric window treatments to soften the look.
